Dr. Geiger is a licensed Clinical Psychologist currently in private practice in Hilton Head, S.C. providing child, adolescent and adult psychological evaluations and psychotherapy for a broad range of clinical disorders while specializing in child and couples therapy. Previously she maintained a private practice in Syracuse, New York while serving as a consultant for the State of New York in forensic issues in conjunction with sexual abuse. In addition, Dr. Geiger has served as a consultant to multidisciplinary team, school and social service agencies.
Dr. Geiger serves as a Center for Value Based Medicine advisor on psychological issues and the quality-of-life changes associated with health care alterations. Her assessments and evaluations of value changes related to a diverse spectrum of health disorders including mental health disabilities are strong additions to the Center’s professional services. She also has experience in traumatic grief therapy, as well as working with cancer and chronic pain patients and their families.
Dr. Geiger earned a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology at Syracuse University following graduation with a M.S. in Clinical Psychology. Previously, she earned a M.A. in Counseling and Guidance from Colgate University after graduating cum laude with a B.A.
She has been named in “Who’s Who in American Professional Women” and is active in her professional organizations. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, South Carolina Psychological Association and has served as Chair of the Ethics Committee, Central New York Psychological Association.
As a recipient of the John Migenes Award she has been recognized for her work in the area of sexual trauma. Dr. Geiger is proud to be a member of Project Best, a statewide initiative to bring empirically supported treatments to South Carolina.
